Why a Luxury Restroom Trailer is the Secret to a Perfect Outdoor Wedding on BC's Sunshine Coast

I'll be honest... I didn't fully appreciate how much a restroom situation could make or break an outdoor event. Then I started talking to brides, event planners, and venue owners across the Sunshine Coast and Lower Mainland. It came up every single time.

You've found the perfect venue.. a waterfront property in Halfmoon Bay, a farm near Squamish, a stunning private estate in Sechelt. The florals are booked, the catering is sorted, the dress fits. But quietly, in the back of your mind: what are 120 guests going to do about the bathroom?

The Problem Nobody Wants to Talk About

BC's most beautiful event venues are often its most remote ones. And remote venues almost universally have the same problem: nowhere near enough restroom facilities for a full guest list. The options used to be limited to standard portable toilets, which, let's be honest, are not an option for a formal event.

Nobody wants to think about porta-potties on their wedding day.

This is exactly the gap we set out to fill. Our luxury restroom trailer: The Tuxedo, was designed to give outdoor events the same quality experience guests would expect indoors. It's become one of the most-commented-on details at every event we serve.

What Guests Actually Experience

I love hearing the feedback after events. Guests genuinely don't expect it. Here's what The Tuxedo offers:

  • Two private, fully enclosed stalls - one with a urinal so lineups stay short

  • Running hot and cold water from a 160-gallon fresh tank - completely self-contained

  • Climate-controlled interior so guests are comfortable whether it's a July heatwave or a cool September evening

  • Shore power or off-grid generator; we work anywhere, even when there's no hookup at the site

  • Optional attendant service; we send someone to keep everything fresh, stocked, and spotless all day

A Note for Sunshine Coast Couples

I want to specifically mention our Sunshine Coast clients, because I know the ferry question is always on your mind. We stage The Tuxedo locally in Sechelt and North Vancouver - which means no ferry, no delay, no logistics headache. Whether your event is in Gibsons, Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay, Roberts Creek, or up toward Egmont, we deliver directly, on time, without the uncertainty of a sailing schedule.

Book Early... I Mean It

Summer weekends in BC fill up faster than you'd think. I've had couples reach out in May for July dates and been heartbroken to tell them we're already booked. If you're planning a summer or fall wedding, please reach out at least 60–90 days in advance -ideally more.

I'm happy to chat about your event, walk you through the options, and make sure your guests have an experience that matches everything else you've worked so hard to create.
